Issue #1: Welcome Jesters!

Hey Jesters,

Welcome to the inaugural issue of our weekly newsletter. We plan on bringing you snack-size updates that keep you connected with the board game community. We want to share with you news about the coolest games, upcoming hits, industry news, as well as introduce to who we are here at Jester. We love board games and we know you do too.

In 2018 I started playing Pandemic Legacy Season 1, with my wife and two of our friends.  It took about 13 months for us to finish the game because it was just tough for us to all get-together.  Even though it took forever for us to finish it, we had a blast playing the game.  I love the original Pandemic board game for its simplicity in tactics and scalability in difficulty.  It’s surprisingly tough, and that difficulty translated to Pandemic Legacy.  I also loved the theming of Season 1.  The story was enjoyable and fulfilling, definitely worth playing if you have not.  Now we are in the middle of our own real-life pandemic, and we just started Pandemic Legacy Season 2.  There are only 3 of us playing it this time.  So far we’ve only finished January, and I can already tell I’m going to love Season 2.  It has a great hook and has already pulled the three of us into the world of Pandemic.  In an effort not to spoil anything about Season 1 or 2, I’ll just tell you that it feels like any other Pandemic game.  The underlying mechanics are the same with a new twist.  As usual, it’s a race against the clock as you run around the map trying to collect cards and fulfill objectives.  I’m looking forward to playing February, and can’t wait to see if our skills and luck hold out.

Playing board games are social activities, they build community and allow friends and family to gather around a common purpose.  We're happy you have decided to download and use Jester!  Our hope is that through the app and these emails we will be able to continue to foster that excitement that each of us gets when we sit down and play board games!

See you next week.
